We are excited to announce that the renovation of Hollowbrook Apartments is officially underway! This significant redevelopment represents an important step toward enhancing affordable housing options in Orlando. The Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (ONIC) is taking on the challenge with a substantial rehabilitation project at Hollowbrook, a vital 144-unit community that has supported Orlando families since ONIC’s acquisition in 2006.
Renovations that Matter
The ongoing renovations at Hollowbrook represent a comprehensive approach to revitalizing this essential community asset. To accomplish this, ONIC has teamed up with Schaefer General Contracting Services, a highly regarded firm known for its expertise in multi-family affordable development projects. Their meticulous attention to detail and proactive project execution will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of this initiative. Here’s what we are excited about:
- Modern Bathrooms and Kitchens: These upgrades will enhance the daily lives of residents, offering spaces that are both functional and inviting.
- Energy-Efficient Improvements: New windows, sliding doors, and upgraded HVAC systems are being installed to create comfortable, energy-efficient homes that reduce utility costs.
- Enhanced Community Spaces: The development of a community clubhouse and swimming pool will foster connections among residents, promoting a sense of belonging.
- Accessibility Features: We are committed to inclusivity, with modifications being made to eight units to meet accessibility requirements and three units for the sensory-impaired, ensuring everyone has a place to call home.
